Narrating « Frag-ments. Frags. Fr. ments, » grazing fragments

In Discourse, Figure, Jean-François Lyotard defines a good book, as “a book to be grazed,” that is, one where “the reader could dip into anywhere, in any order.”

Starting from that premise, this talk aims at examining how the digital processes have enhanced a form of reading as “grazing”.

It focuses on the way contemporary print and digital narratives are told in fragments and vignettes that are constantly being (re)composed as they are read.

Gwen Le Cor est professeure associée à l’Université Paris-8 où elle enseigne l’anglais. Elle est membre du groupe de recherche «Transferts critiques et dynamique des savoirs» et co-titulaire du projet de recherche «Text/ures». Ses recherches récentes portent sur l’hybridité et ses figures dans la littérature américaine contemporaine.
