What is the OIC?

The Observatory of Contemporary Imaginary is the key project of the research center Figura. It is an online encyclopeadic platform devoted to the understanding of contemporary imaginary, in its artistic, literary, cultural, as well as theoretical and epistemological aspects, and concern the current aesthetic productions, their principles and foundations, their poetics, their objects, their effects of reading and spectature. 

This Observatory is designed as an environment of research and knowledge, that is a complex online resource, giving search results and strata of analysis. 

 

Our services

A database rich in researches on the contemporary imaginary

The OIC is an important database of university researches. Thanks to its search engine with facets indexing more than five websites of research groups and magazines, it is from now on easy and pratical to navigate from one article to another one and deepen our reflections on the contemporary imaginary.

 

Recording and live streaming of events devoted to the mobilization of researches and knowledge

The OIC offers you to record your event and publish it on its platform for purposes of archiving and broadcasting. The subject of the event has to relate to one or several research areas

We accept requests for recording and/or live streaming up to three weeks before the event. Contact us now! You will find at the bottom of this page a document explaning the procedure necessary for the recording and the broadcasting of events on our website. Take note that this document is only available in French. We are working on the English version.

 

Publication of articles and research tools

You can also open, as several students and professors, a research notebook on the OIC's website. You will then have the possibility to share the results of your researches and your readings and exchange with a community of university researchers.
